Ruby Rai, 18 topped Bihar’s Class 12 exams in the stream of arts this year and was under suspicion of cheating prior this month, has now been arrested by the Special Task Force investigating the case.

She disappeared after her name came to public eye followed by the other BSEB toppers’ hustle was exposed. Ruby Rai dint appear for the re-test scheduled on June 3 and 17 even though several notices were sent from the board.
She kept informing the board that she is not well and will be unable to appear for the re-exam. Now when it was the third time she finally appeared in the retest. As reported by the officials.
Ruby got 444 out of 500 marks in the Arts stream. The results of Ruby and other toppers had been on hold following the hustle exposed.
Special Investigation Team profound into the Bihar toppers hustle and arrested her in the case as an FIR was aided against Ruby and other three toppers.
According to statement given by police officials, the Patna civil court also announced a non-bail able warrant of arrest against all the four toppers along with Ruby Rai.
Rubi Rai is student of V R College in Vaishali district, known as center of forming toppers for last few years. All other 14 toppers of the board, excluding Ruby, previously appeared for re-test before a panel of experts and the anti-corruption team of the BSEB which tried to find out if they used any kind of fraudulent means to top the exam.
The state government also ordered a SIT probe into the case during which Bachcha Rai, the principal of Bishun Roy College, was also arrested apart from four others. The results of Ruby and others were put on hold following the TV sting which suggested that education in Bihar continues to be a questionable matter with the chance that cheating and fraud are there and that too at a large scale.
The BSEB pronounce this year that Class 12 exams were held free of cheating, allege a huge drop in the pass percentage as the proof. Till last year, mass cheating in board exams was reported.
Former BSEB chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh and his wife Usha Sinha were recently arrested in connection with this matter.
