Like coffee equates with winters, summer is equated with Mangoes. The most awaited thing about summers is mangoes. So, grab those mangoes, and start experimenting with them to create juicy, sweet, tangy recipes. This summer, go crazy over mangoes by trying out different recipes from them:
1. Amiya (Unripe Mango) Pickle:
Stir up some salt, red chilli powder, vinegar, turmeric powder along with diced pieces of amiya/unripe green mango in a pan. This is a ready-to-eat pickle. Also, being oil-free, you can eat it without any guilt.
2. Mango Lassi:
Take some yoghurt in a blender, add sugar and mango puree to it. All you need to do is to blend some more. To add some flavor, you can even add up few drops of vanilla essence. Serve in tall glasses, with some chilled ice cubes.
3. Mango Milkshake:
Dump your regular milk shake with this summer savoury mango milkshake. All you need to do is blend milk with some small mango pieces, add sugar/honey as desired. It is a relishing delight for breakfast time.
4. No Cook Mango Kulfi:
Easy to make, this recipe makes use of whole milk, condensed milk, lots of cream, cardamom powder and saffron threads. Keep the mixture either in an aluminium foil covered utensil or better in kulfi moulds.
5. Mango Chutney:
Use black salt, black pepper powder, cumin powder, powdered sugar and mango blend for making this lip smacking tangy chutney. It goes best with plain parathas and even dal-rice.
6. Aam Panna:
The most popular mango delight is the chilled beverage: khatta Aam Panna. It is made with roasted raw mangoes, jaggery, and cumin powder. To make it more delightful, black pepper powder, and black salt are also added.
7. Mango Raita:
Using blended curd with different flavors like that of roasted red chillies, salt, mustard seeds, sugar (optional), along with mango pieces, Mango Raita is prepared, mainly as an accompaniment with rice or main meals.
8. Mango Iced Tea:
When you are bored with iced tea, you can always switch to other added flavors like that of mango. Use black or green tea bags, sugar, lemon juice, some crushed pudina leaves, mango juice and mango pieces to create this chilled tea which can be used anytime of the summers to bear that heat.
9. Eggless Mango Cheesecake:
Use regular marie biscuits, honey, melted butter and cinnamon powder to create the base. Make a creamy middle layer using hung curd and vanilla essence. And lastly the topping by using cream along with mango pulp, sugar and mango pieces.
10. Mango Falooda:
It is a very popular dessert drink that makes use of regular falooda with mango ice cream, rose syrup, mango pulp and mango custard.
