The slow romance of the 50’s is beautifully depicted by Vikramaditya Motwani in this slow paced romantic drama, based on O Henry’s story Last Leaf. Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh have given brilliant performances with minimal makeup, styling, and average sets. In all, this movie shone through the regular bollywood movies.
Meghna Gulzar’s bollywood debut movie took everyone aback with its highly skilled performances by Irfan and Konkana. It depicted the rivalry between the investigating teams of the double murder of Arushi Talvar, with main shooting locations in Noida, which adds to the realistic background of the movie.
The struggles of the Bambaiya life has been beautifully incorporated with the strange development of romance between two strangers- starring Irfan Khan and Nimrat Kaur. The Mumbai Dabbawalas presented the feel of Mumbai life. Though a low budget movie, it pleased the critics in a big way.
Kanu Behl’s direction made this movie won accolades, being nominated at the Cannes Film Festival 2014. It presented the dark underbelly of Delhi, power-packed true-to-life performances by Ranvir Shorey and Shashank Arora.

It was Bhumi Pednekar’s debut movie for which she gained a lot of weight to portray a fat girl. We are taken to the 1990’s in Haridwar, the retro feel being enhanced by the songs. An out-of-the box idea by the YRF, it brings out the realities of life in an extremely realistic manner.
Passionately simple, this movie captured the real world charm in more than one way. With extremely simple sets and ground breaking performances by Ajay Devgan and Aishwarya Rai, this movie totally went overboard, stealing many hearts.
