shorter flights

It’s normal for mothers to dread the thought of travelling when their children are small. But if you brace yourself with the basic requirements and adequate entertainment, then children become surprisingly easy to handle. While you may feel worried about taking them to newer places, it’s important to allow them a certain degree of freedom. For all you know, your child may end up learning something new on such holidays. Here are some important tips:

  1. When you’re starting off, remember to always opt for shorter flights to destinations that are not too far away. Children, especially infants and toddlers, tend to get restless when they’re cooped up for so long as they aren’t used to it.

  2. Plan like you’ve never planned before. Seems like an obvious thing to say, but the more planning you do, the better prepared you’ll be.

  3. Make sure the hotels you’ll be staying in are baby-friendly. Book all the necessary items in advance. Prams, strollers, or any specific food you think your baby may need.

  4. Try not to experiment with your kid’s food. So unless you’re one of the lucky few whose baby will eat practically anything, it would be a good option to check out serviced apartments wherever you go.

  5. Ensure that you have an itinerary in place and there are arrangements for pick-up and drop to the airport and for sightseeing trips. Don’t do anything on the fly. The better prepared you are, the easier the trip will be for you and your baby.Parents-jumbo-300x198 7 Valuable Tips For Travelling With Children Featured Women Ohbly.com

  6. You will need to pack your child’s comfort items – soft dresses/shirts, pacifier, etc. to keep calm.

  7. Pack smart. Pack what’s familiar and convenient and make sure everything goes into your bag can do double-duty. For instance, if your baby absolutely cannot do without her stuffed teddy, pack that, but leave the other toys.

Mother-speak

Nidhi Batra, co-founder of Nirvana, says, “I sincerely believe that the best education children can get is on the go; no school or university can teach them what they can learn by travelling the world. When I first started travelling with my baby, who was only three months-old at the time, I was surprised and happy at how comfortable he was wherever we went. He was a brilliant traveler and there was definitely no looking back after that.” So if this helped in your vacation planning do hit like and share also if you wish to share your experience do post a comment.
