No more hair-styling woes! With these chic hair makeover tips by Rachna Virdi, you can sport a chic hair statement this season.
Ditch dressy buns; instead opt for casual twisted buns this year. This is something one can do at home and doesn’t need to be a professional to do it. It is clean and chic and matches both Indian and western attires.
Bangs are making a big comeback this season but you no longer need to fear sporting them. Opt for switches or extensions to sport them on the days you’d like to without trimming your hair. Front heavy bangs can be swept across forehead and make your face look stylish.
Step away from the loose, bohemian messy braids to sport neater, cleaner braids this season. Neater braids have subtle texture and can be worn with day time dresses and to work.
Tuck It Up
Tuck your hair naturally into a leather tie, or a ribbon like how one causally tucks hair into their jackets in winters. This looks like a good hair accessory and doesn’t look over done too.
Whether straight or curly, keep your hair simple when open and dramatize with a statement hair accessory like a feather jewelry or flowery head band.
Low Pig Tails
Pig tails from school days that were popularly seen on runaways, is an upcoming trend for the season. Tie them low and close together, embellished with a statement hair piece. It can be smartly worn in the evenings with dresses, gowns or jumpsuits.
Wear a French twist with an accessory. This can be mid-length and low with a bow or ribbon; one may even choose to twist or leave the ends loose.
Leather bands, accessories with simple hair ties, knots, slick straight hair and even curly hair can be sported this season in solid colors. Leather has definitely replaced the gold option.
Pinned Slick Hair
Deep side parts in straight hair, twists, and side bangs neatly pinned behind the hair look feminine and chic. This style goes with almost everything from evening dresses, to casual’s shorts, denims, or boyfriend shirts.
Tie Half Up
Our teeny bopped favorite style of half up and half down look can be experimented with small strands, tiny braids or twists being tied up half way at the back.
Bouffant are an all-time favorite since the 60’s decade. It can be sported either to glam up the look on special occasions or dress up the simplest of looks. Bouffant look great and shout confidence. The idea is to backcomb your crown area and team up with the half tie up trend or pull out slick bangs front ways or side swept.
Crimps are very popularly seen on the ramp every year. These look very soft and girly.
Not everyone wants to chop their hair and sport a bob, which is why fake bobs are a favorite trend. Tie your hair with a hair tie or ribbon into a loose ponytail, roll up this ponytail and tuck it inside to make a bob.
